Frequently asked questions.
What makes JB Pilates and Physiotherapy different?
Juliet offers a unique, integrated approach. You receive expert clinical physiotherapy to accurately diagnose and treat the root cause of your pain, followed by physio-led Pilates to build lasting functional strength and stability. It's the most effective path to not just healing an injury but also preventing future ones and truly restoring your core.
What common conditions do you treat?
Juliet is an experienced physiotherapist treating a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. This includes common issues like low back pain, neck stiffness, knee or shoulder pain, sports injuries, and rehabilitation following surgery. Juliet focuses on getting you moving better, regardless of how long you've been in discomfort.
Do I need a doctor's referral to book an appointment?
No, you do not need a referral from your GP or consultant to book an initial physiotherapy or Pilates assessment. You can book directly through my website or by getting in touch.
What happens in my first session?
Your first session is a detailed, unhurried assessment. We'll discuss your history and goals and complete a thorough physical examination to establish a clear clinical diagnosis. You will then receive hands-on treatment, practical advice, and a personalised plan tailored to help you start your journey toward strength and confident movement.
I'm a beginner; are the Pilates classes right for me?
Absolutely! 1:1 and group Pilates classes are designed to be friendly, supportive, and safe for all levels. As the classes are led by a qualified physiotherapist, Juliet ensures every exercise can be modified and tailored to your specific needs, allowing you to progress comfortably at your own pace while learning how to effectively engage your deep core control.
